The Wild Bird Center in Key Largo is a bird's haven. They feed the hungry, protect the weak, shelter the debilitated, and nurse the wounded. Here the Pelicans get their daily ration.

This greedy Pelican took an enormous bite out of a fish bucket at the feeding. Look at the size of the loot! No way, he can get this down through that thin neck. Or can he?
YES! He did it! Unbelievable! And it took him only minutes. Pelicans are of mind boggling design.
But this SOB didn't think much of the fish menu today at the Wild Bird Center and decided to get a snack on his own. Even if it meant plundering a nest of his fellow birds. Who would think cannibalism would be an option in this place. Let's blame Global Warming again...
Tarpons from the ocean at Snapper's restaurant waiting for their daily fish scraps. Apparently, cut up fish scraps are so much better than freshly self caught fish.
Very ingenious! A brilliantly effective yet simple design of an Hurricane Detector found in a Key Largo bar.

The Caribbean Club "where the famous movie Key Largo was filmed" is a land mark and was built in 1938 as a fishing place for people on a budget. Now it is a bar on the Bay with a boat ramp. The movie theme was done after Bogey and Bacall's movie became a hit even though it was all done in the Hollywood studios. But many tourists believe it and buy the t-shirts.
A private airport community in Tavernier on Plantation Key. People live by the runway and park their airplane under the house. Now that is convenient.
Hog Heaven, a sports bar and grill on the ocean waters of Islamorada Key. An airplane crashed into it one day (or so it seems).
A Bottlebrush from the Bottlebrush Tree.
And from the mailbox collection: a Dolphin.

Simply colorful.

Dick Rutkowski or 'Hyper Dick' next to his hyperbaric chamber. He was involved in developing mixed gases for professional diving in the Navy for many years and has become a legend by introducing enriched air (Nitrox) to recreational diving. Nitrox is now a common mixed gas used by recreational divers all over the world. The 'Father' of Nitrox now runs Hyperbarics Int'l in Key Largo and teaches hyperbaric medicin to physicians and professional divers.
